respect your time (at least others time)

Time is a really important factor for all the people. Specially for the Business people. We need to get the maximum out of our time and its important to be punctual as well. You need to have a good discipline with your time management and arranging your schedules. You need to schedule your day, week, month etc etc and work accordingly. Its acceptable to change it depend on the situation. But this is going to be a different story if you try to change your calender frequently or if you don't stick to your schedule. Mixing up your appointments can make lots of problems to you including missing very important activities and building a bad image for you.

I used to schedule my week on previous Friday and Im trying my best to stick to it. It makes my life easy as well as it helps me to do things on time. I hate to get late to an appointment (including lectures, party etc). I know most of the success full people use to work on time and work on schedule. Specially the business people work on time and they have respect to others time also. But there are some people who never care or respect to their time or other time. Its really pain full ting when you have to work with this kind of people.

I went to meet a customer in the morning with lots things in my mind when it comes to solution which we are going to offer to them. I got really bad experience with this person earlier also when it comes to starting a meeting on time. But I thought he will start today's meeting on time since it was schedule as 1st thing in the morning. I found that Im wrong. He killed almost my morning session. I was waiting for about an hour and finally walk off. HE was calling and sy sorry about the matter and telling he was at a urgent meeting. It can be an urgent meeting but he would have call me and inform it to me earlier or at least after i go to his office.

Then I was calling to another customer (who is a really nut one) to confirm a meeting which is schedule for tomorrow. I got really pissed off by his reply since he was telling that "sorry, I got another meeting and can we do this on Friday". This meeting was planed to start the project and we are expecting the presence of CEOs of both the companies. Still this man doesn't have any respect on others time.

I really can't understand how these people holding such responsible pistons as Managers in these organizations.

Im not telling my mwwting is the only important thing but we should respect the time we alocated for work which is pre-plnaed. If you can't make it for some good reason you need to inform the other party as soon as posible and should try to his time and effort.

We need to respct our time, at least others time.

last minute problems as usual

I used to these last minute problems but still its not easy to handle all the times. I was experiencing the latest one in this morning.

One of my prospect was suppose to come to my office (9.30.am) for a product t demo and everything was fine till 8.30am. I got a call from my colleague who supposed to join with me for the demo as a technical consultant. He met with an accident and he's going to be late and I realise that he won't able to make it for the demo.

I got very few options, a-postpone the demo b-get help from other consultant c-do it alone. Option [a] was not a good idea and i didn't want to even think about it. [b] was a hard thing since most of the guys who is willing to help me are not in the office and the Mr. BIG SHOTS don't care to help some one or the company than doing their day to day work. There for I decided to do it alone or do it with a junior guy who know some thing about the product.

Any way I was not that unlucky since our Operations Manager promised to send some else to his meeting and help me on the demo. This is something unbelievable since the people who didn't have that important work never thought as the way my Operation Manager act. Finally I managed to do the demo in really good way with him since he knows the product then any one else in the company. BIG THANX TO VASANTHAN (my Operations Manager).

24 Season 6

I was driving through Bambalapitiya yesterday and stuck in the traffic. I used to read holdings when I stuck in traffic. It was a great holding to see (which I was expecting to see for some time). MTV Channel-1 going to start the 24 Season 6 from next Sunday (24th June).

24 is the best TV series I ever watched and there were no news about when they going to start the next season after the end of season 5 in couple of months back. Any way its on the way.

Im sure my wife won't be too happy to hear this since she don't want me to watch TV till late night :)

nice time with friends

It was last Thursday and I got a call form my best buddies(from school days) and telling that they are coming to Colombo. They were coming for Anups's wedding on 1st June. I invite them for dinner (not only the guys came from Matara, other also who are in Colombo).

Rangana, Ishantha, Malaka & Chathura came from Matara and Mahendra and other were here. Ishantha was here after one year since he's working overseas. It was a nice time. All were there and had fun like good old days. But we missed Amila(wala) & Damitha who are working overseas.

Oh, we miss Anupa too. He was getting ready to be the BROOM tomorrow :)

after a long time

I didn't post anything here for a long time (almost one and half months). I was busy with my work and not free to write something. And there's nothing much than work as well. But I think I need to write about some special things happen in last few days and I need to maintain my blog up to date. There for I'll try and write as much as I can.
